"New Tab" page flickering: screen rate visible?

When I open a "New Tab" page (cmd+T) on my Macbook Pro (Mid 2012) the whole page is lightly flickering, as if I can see my display's refresh rate. It only occurs in Epic's New Tab page not in any other screen or program on my MBP. Therefore I assume this is not hardware failure but more likely the color scheme/design of this New Tab page.

Is anyone else having the same problem?
