Epic's VPN and AdBlock extensions are bundled into Epic and should be enabled on the Epic extensions page.  You can also now install extensions from the Chrome Webstore.

Go to the extensions page in Epic:  chrome://extensions/

You should see both the VPN and AdBlock there by default.  Enable both extensions via the control at the bottom right of each box.
