The pop up windows and tabs returned, so I've had to uninstall the Epic Browser app until it is fixed. I miss the app already and hope it can be secured from these breaches. I did get screen shots this time. but I don't see a way to attach them to this post. Please advise if there is a way to attach images to these forum posts.
I'm getting multiple spam/malware tabs opening in my Epic Android browser. They are identical pages opening over and over in multiple tabs. It started about 3 days ago. It's like the old internet days when lots of windows would open and you couldn't get them to stop. Nothing made it go away except uninstalling and reinstalling the Epic Browser app. I did that this afternoon, and so far it has worked, but all of my bookmarks and passwords are gone, and I don't know what may have been compromised. This is the most concerning thing I've ever had happen with Epic. I've been using it for years on my PC, and ever since it became available for Android. It's felt very secure until this. I'm sorry, I panicked and didn't take time to note the url or other info from the pop up windows. I'm kicking myself for not at least taking a screenshot.
I've lost the same extension buttons, and now my AdBlock is completely gone. In trying to activate it with the missing umbrella, I apparently removed it, and now ads are showing up everywhere. The AdBlock extension is Epic's superpower, and the main reason to use Epic. Is there a way to quickly restore the AdBlock? (Also, I'm having the same problems with the other extensions as described above.)

GuestIf you like to experiment, tinker etc., disable the Epic AdBlocker or experiment with the settings as that is where the counter setting is located. Deleting and reinstalling the Adblocker did work (remove the Trackers Blocked counter) but I don't know why. Just make sure you save your settings, bookmarks, passwords etc.
I'm sure the talented Epic users will figure it out and repost it here.
Good Luck!
Thanks for the suggestion. I did notice that when I close and reopen the browser the counter will sometimes go back to zero, but then when I open another tab the cumulative number comes back. The number is getting larger than anything I'd normally allow. Hopefully it's just a glitch with the counter.

I noticed the same thing and have notified Alok & company.Good observation, thanks!
Many thanks! I'll stay tuned.
When I close and reopen Epic Browser today, the number of trackers blocked that shows at the bottom of the screen does not reset to zero. Not sure if the problem is only with the counter or a real problem with actually clearing the trackers. I've twice tried resetting the Epic Browser, and no change.
It's working again! The address bar goes to Yahoo search again. (Although the glitch prompted me set up a duckduckgo shortcut which the lazy me had been intending to do for a long time.) Thanks Epic people!
You are welcome, good luck! If I figure it out I will repost.
Try change your search engine to Epic try it, then reset to Yahoo then try it. Also go to Settings, Advanced/Reset Epic.
Good luck!
Thanks.
It sounds like under settings, search engine you may have it incorrectly set but at least you have functionality.
Try, chrome://settings/search, or click on new tab (command T), a series of mostly blank windows will show on the screen. Click on one one and enter the
URL for the search engine you wish to use. There are 15 windows on the MacOS version.
Sorry about that, hopefully the next version will be compatible. It should be available soon.
My browser search engine is set to Yahoo. I hadn't made any changes to it. That was the first thing I checked when it didn't work; and I just checked it again. It should be going to Yahoo. I'll look forward to the update. Thanks for what you do.
Which version of Windows?
If it's Windows 7 it won't work it has been depracated. Chromium no longer supports XP so the last few versions of Epic won't work on Windows XP...and the latest Epic probably won't work on Win7.
Did it work before, have you tried another search engine?
I'm having the same problem on both my Windows 10 laptop and my old Windows 7 laptop.
I am able to navigate to Yahoo Search or Google Search and do a successful search from either of those. It appears to be only the search from the address window that isn't working.
Search terms typed in the address bar are not going to Yahoo Search. Instead, this past day I've started getting a privacy error warning from Epic saying that my connection is not private. (Windows PC)
I know the update is in the works, ETA soon. Here were some suggestions https://forum.epicbrowser.com/viewtopic.php?id=58641, FB is an ongoing cat and mouse game. It is a FB change.
Got it. Thank you.
Is your OS Android or Mac?
Android 9. (Sorry for the delay. I was giving it time to see if it would resolve, but no, still a broken site on the Epic mobile browser.) If I click on a post or comment, the screen still goes gray and does nothing, then goes back to the main page.
See https://forum.epicbrowser.com/viewtopic.php?id=58821. This might help, also working on some changes with the next Epic update.
I hope this answers your questions, repost if not.
Thanks for that link, but this is a different problem. The facebook screen loads in the Epic mobile browser, but when I click in a post or link, or even try to scroll down through the news feed, the screen goes gray and then returns to where I was. Nothing in Facebook works.
The Facebook layout and format looks different today, and I can't open individual FB posts or views. All I can do is scroll through the news feed. Not sure if it is an update to Facebook or an Epic mobile browser update. PS I LOVE the Epic mobile browser.
Google cookies shouldn't be showing up on my Facebook tab. I can't block Google cookies, without breaking my ability to log into my Google account. Is there a way to surgically block Google from installing cookies in my Facebook browser tab? This is a new problem. Epic has kept Google cookies out of my Facebook browser windows until now.
Deleting the redirect part does allow the login screen to appear, but it's dead. It doesn't allow me to type in my login credentials. Thanks for your help! And yes, I'm telling definitely people about the Epic Android app. It's superb.
This week the Wordpress.com login screen doesn't load, after the Epic updates. The screen is completely blank. Is this an Epic bug that needs to be fixed; and any advice for a workaround in the meantime, other than use a different browser?
(Side note: I'm LOVING the new Android Epic browser! I've wanted this for so long. Huge thank you!)
Amazon Smile is still crashing for me, and I don't see an option to manually update Epic. It says I'm running Version 39.0.2171.71 (290621). (Using Windows XP.)
I have the same absurdly high RAM usage with Epic. I love the browser otherwise, but this issue is very limiting. Thank you.
